Tell Your Story

How can I contribute my story to PFF?

Please fill out this form if you would like to contribute your story of food addiction and recovery to people.food.feelings.

You can use the same form if you want to contact us or tell us about a resource that you have found helpful in your recovery.

Submission Guidelines

  1. Please start your story with “How was it then?” (what was it like in your addiction) and then answer, “How is it now?” (what is it like in your recovery).
  2. If possible try to highlight ONE aspect of your addiction/recovery per contribution so readers can make a direct comparison with the element of your addiction and how it feels now in your recovery.
  3. You can make as many contributions as you like, so if you want to talk about different aspects of your addiction/recovery feel free to make additional contributions.
  4. Food addiction has nothing to do with religion (but many twelve step programs have a very Christian foundation), so please avoid using any words or phrases that will exclude people with different religious and spiritual beliefs.  Avoid mentioning “God” or any other deity by name.
  5. There are no rules about minimum or maximum numbers of words, but try to keep your story succinct so the reader will be able to understand quickly and easily the nature of your addictive behaviours and the advantages of seeking recovery.

Right to Reproduce

Please note that there is a possibility that if we can collect many stories, and we think they might be helpful to the recovering food addict, we might decide to compile them into some other format in the future. Therefore, if you share your story here, you are giving PFF permission to reproduce your story in other formats in the future..
